5 DAYS Inshore Tarpon Fishing
Tarpon averaging 20lb to 60lbs can
be found in the shallow inshore bays
along Gambia's coastline.
These spectacular fish are targeted
using a variety of fishing methods
including live-baits, lures and fly.
Sight fishing from the boat, pods of
fish can be seen rolling on the
surface. This is when your
guide will put you in the best
position to present your bait, lure
or fly. Hook-ups are just
fantastic as these silver kings will
go aerial immediately after striking
into them. They will continue
to go berserk both above and below
the water presenting a challenge for
any angler to stay connected. These
aerial displays give them
their reputation for being one of
the world's top sport fish.
The fishing grounds are located
directly in front of Ngala Lodge and
with it's elevated cliff top
position - you can often spot the
tarpon rolling before being
collected for your day's fishing.
Calm sea conditions can allow you to
be collected or dropped-off from the
beach directly in front of the
Lodge, or alternatively, a ten
minute ride to Denton Bridge where
the boats are moored.
The combination of top quality
accommodation and fishing gives you
the opportunity to experience some
of the best The Gambia has to offer.
